Shark Beauty Makes Skincare Debut with LED Light Therapy Mask

Shark Beauty has made its first foray into skincare with a medspa-inspired LED light therapy mask, four years after the home appliance manufacturer broke into the beauty space with high-tech hair drying and styling tools.

The FDA-cleared Shark CryoGlow mask harnesses red, blue, and infrared light therapy, all of which penetrate the skin at different frequencies to boost collagen and reduce fine lines and wrinkles, clear inflammatory acne, increase circulation, and accelerate cellular regeneration.

Its points of difference include cooling under-eye pads powered by InstaChill Technology to reduce puffiness under the eyes. The CryoGlow mask also features the brand's proprietary iQLED Technology with high energy output and 160 tri-wick LEDs (480 light sources) to ensure even light coverage "without gaps or hot spots."

Its four treatment modes are: Under-Eye Revive (5-15 min.) to soothe and tighten under the eyes; Better Aging (6 min.) to boost collagen; Skin Clearing (8 min) to reduce acne; and Skin Sustain (4 min), to brighten and maintain skin health.

"We know that skin, much like hair, is a major source of confidence for people with top concerns being blemishes and fine lines and wrinkles," says Danielle Lessing, Shark Beauty's SVP of Global Product Development. "Shark CryoGlow combines cutting-edge iQLED technology with full-face coverage and a cooling undereye experience to make glowing skin achievable at home."

Results from a 12-week, 60-user clinical study showed that after eight weeks and one Better Aging treatment per day, participants reported 34 percent more radiant skin; 20 percent firmer skin, and a 23 percent reduction or improvement in redness, the brand says.
