Brat Summer may be over, but Charli XCX’s “Brat Black” hair is forever. The British singer/songwriter and soon-to-be film star presented at the 2026 Golden Globes in a custom Saint Laurent feathered black-and-white gown, with her signature jet-black hair sporting glossy new dimension courtesy of celebrity colorist Jacob Schwartz.
Schwartz, the U.S. Hair Color Trend Ambassador for Schwarzkopf Professional, created Charli's inky, high-gloss shade using the brand's Igora Vibrance color line.
Designed to photograph flawlessly under flash while maintaining a rich, lived-in feel, the color includes a subtly nuanced root that adds dimension, with deeper ends anchoring the look in pure, modern black. Its depth echoed the high-contrast palette and dramatic silhouette of her gown.
Charli XCX’s “Brat Black” Formula
Roots: Igora Vibrance 1-0 (20g) + 4-13 (20g)
Ends: Igora Vibrance 3-0
Developer: 13-volume lotion on the roots, 6-volume gel on the ends
Processing Time: 20 minutes
The pop star's longtime hairstylist, Matt Benns, styled her long locks for the event into loose, face-framing waves with an Old Hollywood-esque side part. Makeup artist Marcelo Gutierrez gave her a soft-glam look with her eyes taking center stage.
The Grammy winner is scheduled to make her big-screen debut Jan. 30 in "The Moment," a satirical, star-studded mockumentary that follows Charli on a fictionalized version of her 2024 "Brat" world tour.
