Margaret Qualley's goddess-inspired "Grecian tiara" hairstyle was among the most celebrated beauty looks at the 2025 Critics Choice Awards, where she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in The Substance.
Celebrity hairstylist Anna Cofone created the ethereal hairstyle to complement Qualley's floaty lavender Chanel silk chiffon and tulle gown.
“Taking inspiration from the old Hollywood era of timeless elegance, the graphic shape included a slicked-back ponytail with the addition of rope twists in contrasting colors to create a striking red-carpet moment,” Cofone says.
Here is the breakdown of Qualley's elevated take on the traditional milkmaid braid, using Remi Cachet hair extensions, TYMO hair styling tools, and Authentic Beauty Concept products.
Step by Step
- I prepped Margaret’s hair with ABC Glow Spray Serum and smoothed her texture with TYMO Ring and Airflow to remove all volume.
- I prepped a Remi Cachet Human Hair ponytail, 24-inch, with ABC Working Hairspray before creating soft waves using the TYMO Curlgo.
- I used ABC Pliable Paste to slick back base and control flyaways. I attached the ponytail and secured rope twist extensions.
- Added more waves using the TYMO Cues and used ABC Airy Texture Spray to brush out the curl set in the ponytail and create volume at the base.
- I added Glow Spray Serum to enhance color shine and Working Hairspray all over to set the look.
