Hairbrush giant Denman USA is accepting entries for its College Star – Denman’s Big Blowout Competition, an online contest designed to spotlight emerging talent from cosmetology schools across the United States.
The competition gives beauty school students the opportunity to demonstrate technical ability, finishing skills, and creative execution in one of the industry’s most foundational services: the blowout.
The contest is open to U.S. residents 18+ who are currently enrolled in cosmetology school. Entrants are asked to submit four images of their best blowout from front, back, and both sides.
Entries are judged by overall finish, shape, volume, and professional presentation.
The first-place winner will receive $425 in cash and a one-year Professional Beauty Association (PBA) membership. Second place will be awarded $200 in cash and a one-year PBA membership, while the third-place recipient will receive $100 in cash along with a one-year PBA membership.
The competition aims to reinforce the importance of strong foundational skills within career training programs, plus provide cosmetology schools with an opportunity to encourage portfolio development and industry engagement among their students.
Entries are open through March 30, 2026. Winners will be announced on April 20. Full entry requirements and terms and conditions are available here.
