After the success of the sophomore Black Hair Reimagined: The New Era of Beauty show this spring, two headlining artists are back in NYC teaching how to execute editorial, runway, and celebrity looks in an intensive one-day masterclass.
The Black Hair Reimagined Masterclass is led by renowned hairstylists Jawara Wauchope, who co-founded the avant-garde hair and beauty showcase, and Malcolm Marquez.
Both are L'Oréal Professionnel Global Creative Contributors, presenting the class in partnership with the brand.
Each artist will recreate a signature look inspired by their red carpet and celebrity work, offering a step-by-step demonstration while sharing their personal journey, inspirations, and the mindset required to succeed at the highest level.
Participants learn:
- Technical breakdowns of styling across all hair textures;
- The storytelling process behind artistic hair moments;
- Industry tips, techniques, and set etiquette; and
- Real-world insight on building a career in fashion and celebrity hair.
The classes are held at 11am (Marquez) and 1pm (Wauchope) on Sept. 9 at WSA in the Financial District; purchase tickets here.
