This time of year, clients are clamoring for rose, pink, and peach tones, and PRAVANA is serving them up with its new Sugarcoated Collection.
Celebrity colorist Evanie Frausto calls pink “one of the most modern, versatile tones you can wear.
“Depending on the depth and placement, it can feel romantic, playful, or high fashion.”
Using the two newest shades in PRAVANA’s semi-permanent ChromaSilk VIVIDS line —Juicy (a refined peach) and Crush (a soft rose gold) — Frausto and fellow master colorist Andy James created the Sugarcoated Collection in time for Valentine’s Day.
Formulated for levels 7+, these shades deliver wearable, on-trend results—particularly for clients with darker or warmer starting levels without requiring a level 10 lift.
“Pink catches the light in a way that makes the hair look healthy and intentional,” Frausto says. “The person who chooses pink is usually expressive, creative, and comfortable being seen. It feels fresh without trying too hard, which is why people are so drawn to it."

Because Crush is more mauvy, I decided to lift to pale yellow with balayage and used PRAVANA Lightener to ensure that it was true to tone.
I processed straight out of the tube for 30 minutes after applying root to tip on 80% dry hair.
For Juicy which is more peachy, I lifted to a level 8 blonde (with foils on this particular model). Her hair was a dark level 2, so I knew I needed the added insulation of a foil.
Since level 8 already has warmth, I applied straight out of the tube on 80% dry hair and processed for 40 minutes with a cap to ensure that the tone really set in.

FOUNDATION: THE LIFT
Both shades need brightness. If the canvas is dull, the color won’t glow.
Lightener: PRAVANA Pure Light + 20 volume; 1:2 ratio
For Juicy:
- I start mids and ends first, full saturation. Roots last.
- If the scalp lifts fast, I’ll switch to 10 volume at the root.
- Process up to 45 minutes until I hit a clean level 9, almost 10. Soft pale yellow.
For Crush (foiled):
- Micro-sliced foils. Very controlled placement. Same lightener, 20 volume.
- Lift to a clean level 9. It doesn’t need to be icy — just even and bright.
- Rinse. Light cleanse. No heavy conditioner before applying Vivids.
JUICY – ALL OVER
- I apply Juicy directly from the tube. No dilution.
- On towel-dried hair, fully saturate. Comb through for even distribution. Process 20–30 minutes at room temperature flat. Cool rinse. No shampoo.
CRUSH – FOILED PIECES
- After lift and rinse, I apply Crush directly to the pre-lightened foiled sections.
- Full saturation is key. These pieces need to pop against Juicy.
- Process 20–30 minutes.
